Meet the Team

Paul Newman

Paul Newman joined DVA as the Creative Director in autumn 2022.

He has worked with artists and arts organisations in the south west for over 10 years, as a curator as well as in event management.

As an artist, he is a member of  The Arborealists and The Society of Graphic Fine Art. 


Izzie Jobbins

Izzie Jobbins joined DVA in February 2022. She assists DVA members, communications and project management. 

Her own artistic practice explores memories, humour, and archiving. She has an interest in community art and supporting the work of emerging artists.


Polly Hobbs

Polly Hobbs joined DVA in October 2023 and produces Dorset Art Weeks, along side the DVAtions programme.  

Polly is an artist, framer and arts professional who has worked in events management and marketing for over 10 years.


Mandy Rathbone

Mandy joined DVA in August 2017 as bookkeeper and secretary.

She has extensive experience of arts organisations administration having worked in this area for many years.

As an antidote to hunching over a computer Mandy is also a keen sound recordist, never happier than when stomping over the Dorset hills with microphone and zoom.

Trustees

The staff and their activity are guided and supported by DVA board members. Trustees give their time voluntarily to the organisation and consist of:

  • Simon Barber - Designer + Founder + Editor of Evolver Magazine

  • Karen Hawey - Marketing and Fundraising Professional 

  • Megan Hyde - Art Historian 

  • Claire Mason - Artist and Curator with Teaching and Management Experience 

  • Sharon James - Artist and Curator

  • Laura Vent - Freelance Creative Director, Producer and Consultant

  • Victoria Muenzer-Jones - Artist and Creative Director with a background in International Law and Corporate Leadership
